Reginald the Vampire Trailer: Jacob Batalon Is the Star of the New SYFY Series

In the Reginald the Vampire teaser for SYFY, Spider-Man star Jacob Batalon is putting his teeth into the vampire comedy genre. The Chucky network calls the 10-episode series, which is based on Johnny B. Truant’s Fat Vampire novels, a comedy-tinged drama, “‘That illustrates the undead life is just as intricate as life itself, with a lot of heart and just enough blood,'” the author said. Reginald the Vampire “drains the blood from contemporary beauty standards while turning traditional vampire clichés on their heads” when the new show debuts on SYFY on October 5 at 10 PM in time for Halloween. View the below teaser trailer.

Reginald the Vampire is described as follows by SYFY: “Visualize a world where vain, attractive, and fit vampires rule. Reginald Andres (Batalon) plunges into it headfirst as an unexpected hero who must overcome every challenge — the girl he loves but can’t be with, the intimidating boss at work, and the vampire chieftain who wants him dead. Fortunately, Reginald learns he possesses a few untapped abilities of his own.”

In addition to Aren Buchholz (When Calls the Heart), Em Haine (The Mighty Ducks: Game Changers), Georgia Waters (Siren), Mandela Van Peebles (Mayor of Kingstown), Marguerite Hanna (Ashley), Savannah Basley (Wynonna Earp), and Sean Yves (Heartland), Batalon (Spider-Man: No Way Home) leads the cast.

Production companies that work on SYFY shows include Great Pacific Media Inc. (Highway Thru Hell), December Films (Out Come the Wolves), Modern Story Company, and Cineflix Studios (Tehran, Coroner). Peter Emerson, Todd Berger, Lindsay Macadam, Harley Peyton (SYFY’s Chucky, Twin Peaks), Jeremiah Chechik (Chuck, The Middleman), and Brett Burlock (Wynonna Earp, Pure) serve as executive producers (The Firm, Mirage).

Six books make up Truant’s Fat Vampire book series, which was first released in 2012. The movie “Fat Vampire 2: Tastes Like Chicken” “Fat Vampire 4: Harder Better Faster Stronger,” “Fat Vampire 3: All You Can Eat,” Fat Vampire 5: Fatpocalypse, and Fat Vampire 6: Survival of the Fattest are two titles in the series.

SYFY will debut Reginald the Vampire on October 5.
