Pinhead is here to tempt you in the latest look at Hellraiser

A new Pinhead image has arrived to inspire you to complete the pattern, solve the puzzle and turn the key. The final image of the Cenobite leader is courtesy of fangoria and watch Sens8 star Jamie Clayton as the iconic Hellraiser horror movie monster. You can check out the latest look at Pinhead below…if you dare.

This new take on Hellraiser will act as a new adaptation of the 1986 short story the infernal heart by Clive Barker. First published in 1986, the story was used as inspiration for the film Hellraiser in 1987, which tells the story of a mystical puzzle box that summons the Cenobites, a group of extra-dimensional sadomasochistic beings who cannot tell the difference between pain and pleasure. Led by Pinhead, the character has since become one of the most evocative of the horror film genre, with many wondering how the new Hellraiser will live up to the legacy left by original actor Doug Bradley.

Well, rise to the occasion, they must, with this year Hellraiser hoping to bring something different to the character of Pinhead by launching Sens8 et Roswell, New Mexico star Jamie Clayton in the role. While what we’ve seen so far shows a look similar to what audiences will be used to when it comes to Pinhead (you’ll be pleased to see there are plenty of pins in his head), Clayton has already brought a different air to the character. Somehow softer and more ethereal than what came before.

“We say ‘female Pinhead’ like we know what it means, but there are a million shades of femininity”, original Hellraiser director Doug Bradley said of the casting. “Where exactly are they going with this?” Everything about Hellraiser has always been transgressive. Everything, always, from start to finish. It’s not a new idea in that sense, but I’m intrigued. I’m in the same position as all of you, I guess, to see where this leads. »

This year Hellraiser is not a remake, says director David Bruckner

When initially announced, many had assumed that the Hellraiser would be a reboot of the beloved original. But director David Bruckner recently said that’s not the case. “It’s not a remake. I just didn’t think you could ever do the original again Hellraiser, ” he said. “It’s too much of its own thing and it would be, I think, treacherous ground for filmmakers, because how do you do better? It’s a new story in the Hellraiser universe. »

That means the new Hellraiser will connect to the ’80s original in some way remains to be seen. What we do know is that Hellraiser will focus on a young woman struggling with an addiction who comes into possession of an ancient puzzle box, unaware that her purpose is to summon the Cenobites, a group of sadistic supernatural beings from another dimension.

Directed by David Bruckner, with a script by Ben Collins and Luke Piotrowski, and with Clive Barker on board as producer, Hellraiser stars Odessa A’zion as Riley and Jamie Clayton as Pinhead alongside Brandon Flynn, Goran Višnjić, Drew Starkey, Adam Faison, Aoife Hinds, Selina Lo and Hiam Abbass.

Hellraiser is set to release exclusively on Hulu as an original movie on October 7, 2022.
