Photos from House of the Dragon episode 3 confirm an incredibly grisly moment for King Viserys

King Viserys (Paddy Considine) has had a difficult time thus far in House of the Dragon. Widowed and under pressure from all sides, the Iron Throne is also starting to reject him.

In the previous episode of The Rogue Prince, Viserys accidentally injured his little finger on the Iron Throne and had to plunge his hand into a bucket of maggots to save it from withering away from infection.

However, brand-new promotional photos of Viserys holding his newborn kid in the air have revealed to viewers that the king’s decaying finger will not endure the two-year time leap in the upcoming episode.

The last two fingers of the leather glove on Viserys’ left hand are folded up and appear empty in the photo, implying that the illness ultimately claimed two of his fingers. Viserys is holding his son aloft while wearing the gloves.

When the photographs were made public, admirers immediately began to question them. One Twitter user commented: “Bendy finger. The head of [Viserys] has been severed. It appears to have moved to his ring finger as well. He got two of them removed.

Viserys also seems to be married to Alicent Hightower (Emily Carey), which is another point. In addition to that shocking revelation, Alicent appears to be substantially pregnant with their second kid already.

The birth of a son by King Viserys and Alicent is terrible news for the princess who will be his heir, Princess Rhaenyra (Milly Alcock), as her father’s cousin Rhaenys (Eve Best) had previously forewarned her that she will not inherit the Iron Throne.

She declared in the previous episode that “Men would sooner destroy the realm than watch a woman ascend the Iron Throne.” Rhaenys’ protest was disregarded when Viserys was crowned in the show’s prologue.

Other images from the HBO program’s record-breaking set show Corlys Velaryon (Steve Toussaint) leading his army into battle while the Lannisters appear to be making an appearance.

The show has so far received accolades for its acting and mystery, although some have criticized it for its glacial pacing. The prospect of a showdown the next week would draw in viewers who may have been clamoring for more action.
