House of the Dragon Star Emily Carey Comments on If the Young Actors Will Return in Season 2

Emily Carey and Milly Alcock were two of the biggest stars across four episodes of House of the Dragon, as they play Alicent Hightower and Rhaenyra Targaryen, respectively. The two, who were once best friends before Hightower’s marriage to Rhaenyra’s father, stole countless scenes they were a part of, becoming fan favorites during their short time on the show.

But, of course, the two will not stay with House of the Dragon for too long, as Alcock and Carey will be replaced by older versions of the characters halfway through the first season. Emma D’Arcy is set to reprise the role of Rhaenyra from Alcock, while Olivia Cooke will play Alicent. The 10-year time jump could take place after the next episode, which means we might only get one more episode with the younger cast. During an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Carey opened up about her role in House of the Dragon and commented on the possibility of returning to the series in subsequent seasons. She says she has no idea what will happen right now, but would like to come back at some point.

“We talked about it, conversations took place, but, in all honesty, I know absolutely nothing and I have no idea. Of course I would love to come back. It depends on how it’s received and where they want to take the show next. I’m just going with the flow! »

Will we ever see Carey and Alcock in flashbacks?

game of thrones is known to rarely show flashbacks, so it would be difficult to implement in most timeline times House of the Dragon. In the initial series, the history of Westeros was mostly shown through dialogue, with the characters discussing events before the show instead of showing the audience directly. When flashbacks are used, it’s for pivotal monumental moments, like Ned Stark’s scene in the Season 6 finale of game of thrones.
