After two years, “Barbarians” (“Barbaren” is its original language and “Barbarians” in English) returns with a second season, which will air on Netflix on Friday, October 21, 2022. The German series created by Andreas Heckmann, Arne Nolting and Jan Martin Scharf is set during the time of the first Roman emperor, Augustus.
Starring Laurence Rupp, Jeanne Goursaud and David Schütter, this historical war drama chronicles the struggle of the Germanic peoples against the Roman Empire told from the perspective of the Germans.
Jeanne Goursaud, David Schutter, Laurence Rupp and Bernhard Schütz are among the actors returning in the second season of “ barbarians”. They are joined by new actors like Robert Maaser, Murathan Muslu and Andrea Garofalo, but who’s who in the Netflix series?
Robert Maaser, a German actor who made his international screen debut in ‘Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation’ and appeared in such productions as ‘The Palace’, ‘Glow & Darkness’ and ‘Tribes of Europa’, is in charge of interpreting at Odvulf.
Murathan Muslu, Austrian actor known for “CopStories” and “Skylines”, joins the cast of the second season of “ barbarians” as Maroboduus the Marcomanni King, the main antagonist of the new installment.
Andrea Garofalo, an Italian actor best known for his roles in ‘Medici’, ‘Leonardo’ and ‘Callibro’, takes on the role of Aulio in the next six episodes of the historical war drama, which will be released on October 21, 2022.
