shaky camera issues and other bugs

The iPhone 14 Pro has now officially arrived in stores – and with it the first issues and bugs. For example, user reports are accumulating that the camera of some third-party apps such as Instagram or TikTok shows shaky videos. And there also seems to be issues with data transfer.

Since the official launch of the iPhone 14, iPhone 14 Pro, and iPhone 14 Pro Max on Friday, more and more Pro model owners are reporting initial issues. According to MacRumors, reports of shaky camera images in third-party apps are piling up on social media and internet forums. Users describe that the camera in apps like Snapchat, TikTok or Instagram shakes uncontrollably and therefore the resulting videos are unusable.

Although the iPhone camera app itself doesn’t seem to be affected, the problem can apparently extend to them. At least that’s what YouTuber Luke Miani reports. After noticing the main camera focus issues in a third-party app, they also appeared in the standard iPhone camera app.

Camera bug: possible fix with iOS 16.1?

What is behind the shaky camera issue on the iPhone 14 Pro and Pro Max can only be speculated at the moment. Apple has yet to comment. Pro models of the new generation of iPhones use image stabilization by means of sensor displacement, which can act out of control due to a software bug. If this is the case, Apple should make improvements soon and could already provide a fix with the beta of iOS 16.1.

iPhone 14: Pro models freeze during data transfer

However, some owners don’t seem to go so far with their new iPhone 14 Pro or Pro Max that they can even use the camera. Apple is apparently fixing a data transfer issue, MacRumors reports, citing an internal memo. Customers describe how Pro models freeze during Quickboot process while trying to transfer their data from iCloud or old smartphone to new one.

As an acute fix, customers should restart their iPhone if it’s unresponsive for more than five minutes, Apple said. It is also advisable to install any software updates as soon as possible. Although current iPhones come with iOS 16, an update to iOS 16.0.1 is already available, which you need to install after installation.
