Google will reveal the Pixel Watch on October 6 alongside the Pixel 7 and Pixel 7 Pro. The company previously released a few images, teasing users about the smartwatch back in May during the Google I/O developer conference.
Over the months, several smartwatch details have been leaked, including what the possible price for Pixel smartwatches might look like.
A leaked certification from the FCC or the US Federal Communications Commission has revealed that it will arrive in three variants. The first model will only support Wi-Fi and Bluetooth connectivity, while the other two variants will support LTE connectivity.
We know of previous reports that the cellular version of the next Google Pixel Watch will cost €399 or around Rs. 31,750 in the US. Recently, the price for the base model in the EU was leaked.
The base model will ship without any cellular LTE connection and will only support WiFi and Bluetooth connectivity options. Apparently, this version of the Google Pixel watch will start selling between EUR 250 or Rs 19,250 and will go all the way up to EUR 350 or Rs 27,900. That’s a huge range strictly speaking, but assuming the actual price is finds itself closer to the lower side of that range, it’s basically in line with that of many competitors. For instance, To the 40mm Galaxy Watch 5 by Samsung from 300 euro.
Pricing aside, we’re also treated to the alleged official names of the three colorways the Pixel Watch will be offered in – Chalk, Charcoal, and Obsidian. These definitely look like Google, and it’s worth noting that the upcoming Pixel 7 devices will also come in Obsidian – which is Google’s hip new way of saying black in 2022.
Reports have surfaced that the Google Pixel Watch will feature a circular OLED display. It will be powered by the Exynos 9110 chipset, a Cortex-M33 coprocessor and 1.5GB or 2GB of RAM. It will offer 32GB of native storage and will run on WearOS.
The Pixel Watch is expected to arrive with support for Google Assistant and Google apps like Maps. There’s no word on how big the Pixel Watch’s battery will be, but it should last all day on a single charge. It will be equipped with a linear motor for haptic feedback and better vibrations.
