K-pop News: Le Sserafim gears up for return as quintet

K-pop News: According to a Thursday story in the regional media, Le Sserafim is getting ready for a new album that will be released in the fall.

Following the report, Agency Source Music acknowledged that they are getting ready to return, but they did not offer any other information.

It will be the band’s first album following their restructuring into a quintet. After her allegations of being bullied at school caused controversy, Kim Garam departed the squad in July.

The trio lived up to the hype when it made its debut in May. “Fearless,” Spotify’s debut single, immediately climbed to the top of the global top 200. Only eight days after its premiere, it debuted in the Billboard 200 at No. 155 and No. 74 globally, excluding the US. A K-pop girl group’s first album at the time broke a record by selling more than 300,000 copies of its debut EP with the same name in its first week of release.

Label YG Entertainment revealed Treasure’s release date for their second EP on Thursday with a poster.

The company noted that in order to properly celebrate the second anniversary of its debut, it will also organize performances in Seoul on November 12–13.

Over seven months have passed since the release of the first EP in the “The Second Step: Chapter One” series, which sold over 700,000 copies in just three days. In 30 nations, the EP topped the iTunes top albums chart.

The 12-member act’s second solo performance will have an even longer set list because the musicians wanted to have a deeper connection with their audience, according to the record company.

On Wednesday, the music videos for the band’s songs “Jikjin” and “Love You” each received one million views on YouTube. The lead song from the first EP is “Jikjin,” while the second single is “Love You.” The milestone has already been reached by three of Treasure’s videos.
