Hyun Bin returns as more relaxed N. Korean detective in ‘Confidential Assignment 2’

At the point when Hyun Bin repeated his job as North Korean detective Im Chul-ryung in the second installment of the action film “Confidential Assignment,” the top Korean actor initially believed that there wasn’t a lot of he expected to prepare.

“I contemplated the potential changes I could make to the new character and came up with an answer,” he added. “Since it is Chul-ryung’s second visit to South Korea, I chose to show his familiarity with the climate and also Jin-tae (Yoo Hae-jin) as well as Jin-tae’s family. Besides, while Chul-ryung was centered around vengeance for his dead spouse in the past film, he shows a more relaxed and brilliant side in the continuation,” Hyun Bin said.

In chief Lee Suk-hoon’s “Confidential Assignment 2: International,” North Korean detective Chul-ryung (Hyun Bin) is shipped off South Korea on another mission. His target is North Korean wrongdoing organization leader Jang Myung-joon (Jin Seon-kyu). Yet again in South Korea, Chul-ryung teams up with detective Kang Jin-tae (Yoo), who is at present in a cybercrime investigation team and eager to get back to the regional investigation team. Meanwhile, FBI agent Jack (Daniel Henney) joins Chul-ryung and Jin-tae in their quest for Myung-joon.

“Individuals say that continuations are more regrettable than the original movies. I think it is because they depend a lot on the progress of the original film and just repeat showing the same character. Our film features what audiences expect however it also includes new, startling components,” the chief said after introducing the plot of the new film.

Korean young lady band SNSD’s Yoona, who also repeated her job as Jin-tae’s sister by marriage Min-youthful, also talked about the changes to her character.

“Presently she (Min-youthful) has some work. In the primary film, she was an outcast in the family because she didn’t have some work, and in the new film she has turned into a YouTuber. Another change is that she used to have a pulverize on Chul-ryung yet in the continuation, she falls for the new character Jack. She fantasizes about choosing between the two,” Yoona explained.

Henney, who joined Tuesday’s presser via video link from the US, talked about what it resembled to work with the three other co-stars.

“I have been a fan of Yoo Hae-jin for quite a while so I was respected to work with him. We talked a ton on set about various topics, including fishing. And I initially met Yoona back in 2007 when I was filming ‘My Father’ and I’ve always been her fan. I’m exceptionally intrigued by her transition from singing to acting,” Henney said.

He also added that he clicked immediately with Hyun Bin on set – – they had cooperated 17 years ago on the 2005 TV drama series “My Lovely Sam Soon.”

Hyun Bin answered saying, “I think we got a chance to cooperate again because we have been working hard on our own career paths. It was so ideal to meet him again on set.”

“Confidential Assignment 2: International” will hit local theaters Sept. 7.
