For more than two decades, Dwayne Johnson’s career has seen him transform from a wrestling legend to an action hero with grace and ease. a career that has seen him star in a variety of films, including Fast & Furious and the reboot of Jumanji. Johnson has seen him take his role as a movie actor quite seriously. While bringing his famed style and humor to every task he undertakes, Johnson is full of surprising moments that have led to his being among the most lucrative stars on the planet Earth. The majority of this could not have been possible without certain people who made a difference in the way he exhibited his brilliance early on in his career. It appears now that Dwayne Johnson is addressing his humble beginnings and thanking the people who helped him get to where he is today in the film industry.

This is a wonderful thing to see. content to witness this lovely standing ovation for Brendan. He was supportive of me when I joined the Mummy Returns franchise for my first role ever that launched my Hollywood career. We are rooting for you to succeed brother, and congrats to my buddy The Darren Aronofsky. #TheWhale

With a dash of modesty and a hint of chivalry, Dwayne Johnson is awed by the actor Brendan Fraser for his recent appearance at the premiere of his upcoming film The Whale. Johnson and Fraser were co-stars in The Mummy Returns in 2001, which was the sequel to the hugely popular The Mummy. The Mummy Returns was the first acting debut for then-wrestler Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson and helped launch Johnson into a burgeoning film career. In his tweet to social media on Twitter, the actor shared that he was awestruck by Brendan Fraser and The Whale director Aronofsky. He congratulated the two for what is likely to be a successful debut for their new film. The tweet comes following an ovation lasting six minutes to Fraser in his performance at the Venice Film Festival over the weekend, as reported by Variety.

The Mummy Returns was a great addition to a new series that saw Brendan Fraser return to his character as an action star. Alongside fan favorites John Hannah, Rachel Weisz, and Arnold Vosloo, who all reprised their roles from the original, Dwayne Johnson joined the team as Mathayus who was also known as The Scorpion King. The film managed to earn $435 million, despite a budget that was $98 million. The film also produced a spin-off titled The Scorpion King, starring Johnson in his first leading role in a film. Despite the favorable box-office results, critics weren’t as enthused about the film when it was released. A Rotten Tomatoes review currently gives the film a 47% rating on its Tomatometer, basing its rating on 141 critics’ opinions. The audience score on Rotten Tomatoes is a bit better, with more than 250,000 reviews, giving the film an average score of 63 percent.

However, Brendan Fraser’s latest film, The Whale, is facing some of the most favorable reviews of his 53-year-old career. After working together with Dwayne Johnson back in the 90s, Fraser has recently enjoyed an impressive comeback to his career. After a resounding premiere at this year’s Venice Film Festival, the initial critiques for The Whale are in, and they’re excellent. Rotten Tomatoes has rated The Whale at 87% based on 23 reviews from critics. These are some of the best numbers Fraser has ever seen for a film in the past. The Whale is making its debut at screenings this year before it is released in cinemas to a larger public in December when it is eligible for Oscar consideration.
