Priscilla is based on Priscilla Presley’s 1985 memoir Elvis and me, detailing the relationship between the late singer and his only wife. The book explores how the two met as well as the trials and tribulations of their marriage and subsequent divorce. In 1988, the book was developed as a TV movie by director Larry Peerce and writer Joyce Eliason. This version featured Dale Midkiff (Pet sematary) as Elvis and Susan Walters (the flash) as Priscilla.
