Molly Ringwald will play Joan Carson, Johnny Carson’s second wife and Truman Capote’s good friend, who stayed with him until his death. After the divorce, she returned to California, where she eventually became one of Capote’s “gooses” and even kept a writing room in her home for the writer. They were so close that the writing room is where Capote died on August 25, 1984, at the age of 59.
