Based on a news report from ComicBook.com The Joker’s real name is Jack Oswald White. This information is based on the most recent issue of DC Flashpoint Beyond comic, Flashpoint Beyond issue #5. The comic book was created by Geoff Johns, and Jeremy Adams along with Tim Sheridan, with illustrations by Eduardo Risso, Xermanico, and Mikel Janin. The series is limited and will run until the end of next month. In the fifth installment, “The Clockwork Killer: Chapter Five,” Psycho-Pirate is required to disclose The Joker’s true name, which is revealed to the public for the first time in the series since the character’s creation in 1940. It is revealed that the character is Jack Oswald White. This is the first acknowledgment by DC to date. Many versions of The Joker have made their way into film and television, each with its own version of the character’s actual name or absence. Star Wars actor Mark Hamill has voiced the Joker character for Batman: The Animated Series, which ScreenRant has reported will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of the series this year. The series was created due to the rising popularity of Tim Burton’s 1989 adaptation of the film, Batman which featured Michael Keaton as the caped crusader as well as Jack Nicholson as The Joker. In the film, The Joker’s real name is Jack Napier, setting the scene for DC to continue using “Jack” to be the character’s name. But, since the movie was a fictitious creation, to make the movie’s source material, we did not follow the film’s model.
Since the time, Heath Ledger famously took The Joker’s role The Joker in The Dark Knight winning an Academy Award posthumously. The actor Joaquin Phoenix played the role of Batman’s most formidable foe however, Joker was primarily an imaginary character called Arthur Fleck, who became The Joker later on in the film following a series of tragic incidents. IndieWire has reported the musical sequel to Joker is currently in development titled Joker: Madness for Two and viewers will be able to see Phoenix reprise his Oscar Award-winning character Arthur Fleck alongside Lady Gaga as Harley Quinn. Even though in these latest versions, The Joker’s real name has been altered numerous times, it’ll be interesting to see how the followers of the character feel about his actual name, Jack Oswald White.
